You Are About to Walk 18 Holes. Indoors. In Nashville.
America's first full 18 hole indoor golf course is opening in The Nations, and it is not a bar with screens. You actually walk the course, putt on real greens, and hit out of real sand. Here is exactly how it works and what to expect.

Let's get the obvious question out of the way first. No, this is not one of those places where you stand in a bay, hit a ball into a screen, order wings, and call it golf. We love those places. This is not that.
CityGolf USA is putting its flagship in a 174,000 square foot building in The Nations, about three football fields under one roof. You tee off. You walk. You putt out on a real green. Then you walk to the next hole. Eighteen times. Like golf, because it is golf, except the fairway is a screen and the ceiling is a ceiling.
18 real green complexes you walk onto.
2.5 hours for a typical round, start to finish.
300+ world courses in the simulator library.
$60+ starting price for a public round.
How a hole actually works
Every hole runs the same three step loop. Once you have done it one time, it stops feeling futuristic and just feels like playing golf.
Tee off into the screen. You hit your drive and your approach shots into a GOLFZON simulator screen running Unreal Engine 5 graphics. The hitting platform has separate fairway, rough, and bunker turf, and it sits on a motion plate that tilts in 64 directions to recreate roughly 56,000 different lies. If the ball is above your feet on a sidehill, the floor puts it above your feet. Your stance is the shot.
The screen rolls up. When your ball finishes inside the short game zone, the screen physically retracts and opens the frame in front of you. This is the moment that gets people. The wall you were just hitting into disappears and there is a real green sitting behind it.
Walk out and finish the hole. A laser projects a dot onto the green showing exactly where your ball came to rest in the digital world. You drop your ball on the dot and finish for real. Chip it, pitch it, blast it out of an actual sand bunker, then putt out on a tournament grade synthetic surface shaped by a world renowned course architect. Pick up your ball, walk to hole two.
Your score is your score. There is no "well, the simulator gave me that one." You still have to get up and down, and you still have to make the four footer with your buddies watching. The short game is the whole point of the format.
What the round feels like
About two and a half hours. Half a normal round. You can play before dinner and still make an 8 p.m. reservation downtown.
You are walking, not sitting. Wear comfortable shoes. You will cover real distance moving between holes.
A Play Host goes with you. Part caddie, part server. They run the scoring interface and keep drinks and food coming so nobody has to go hunting for a bartender mid round.
There are halfway houses. Actual food and drink stops built into the course routing, plus a full clubhouse restaurant and bar when you finish.
Nobody is waiting on the group ahead. Auto tee and automatic ball return mean no bending over to re tee and no lost ball walk of shame.
It is 72 degrees in July and in January. Nashville summers hit a heat index near 110. Nashville winters rain. Neither one touches your tee time.
Where you are playing, and where you are not
The simulator library holds virtual recreations of more than 300 mapped courses, including Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and PGA National. So yes, you can walk 18 at St Andrews on a Tuesday in The Nations and be back in your kitchen by dinner.
There is also an arcade mode with games like Dart Golf and Whack a Mole, which exists entirely so the person in your group who has never held a club still has a great night. Highly recommended for mixed skill groups, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and anyone traveling with kids.
Who this is perfect for
A serious golfer. Real short game reps in perfect conditions, plus GDR MAX performance tracking with dual cameras reading around 20 metrics including smash factor, face to path, and weight shift.
A total beginner. No starter watching you, no group behind you, no dress code anxiety. PGA certified instructors on site if you want a lesson.
A group of 8 with mixed skill. Arcade games, food, drinks, and a scoring format nobody has to be good at.
Here for a bachelorette or a birthday. Two and a half hours, air conditioned, walkable, and genuinely different from the fifteenth bar on Broadway.
In town for work. Three private event suites with a dedicated kitchen, audiovisual gear, and operable walls that reshape from a board meeting to a team night.
Watching rain in the forecast. This is the best rain day plan Nashville has ever had.
What it costs
Public and walk in play: roughly $60 to $125 for 18 holes, with the average round expected to land under $100. Booking window opens 22 days out.
Founding Membership: a capped tier at $1,500 to enroll plus $375 a month, with that rate locked through 2030. It includes 4 rounds a month, a guest pass each month, a member lounge, a 30 day booking window, founder only tee blocks, 15% off food and drink, 20% off extra rounds, and priority access at future locations.
If you live here and you golf more than twice a month, run the math on the membership. If you are visiting, just book a public round and enjoy your life.
When it opens and what happens next
Soft opening and official launch are targeted for late 2026. This is the first location in the country, and the plan after Nashville is 10 to 15 major American metro markets by 2030, with New York and Los Angeles named as future targets.
Which is worth saying out loud: Nashville got picked first. Before New York. Before Los Angeles. The concept already runs in China, where the Tianjin location logged 9,937 rounds in 2025 and had already passed 7,600 rounds by the end of June 2026, so this is a proven format arriving here, not an experiment being tested on us.
Do not confuse the two.
CityGolf in The Nations is the big walkable 18 hole course. Nashville City Golf is a separate boutique simulator club downtown near the Four Seasons that uses Trackman iO technology. Both are good. They are very different nights out. Make sure you book the one you meant to book.
The neighborhood: The Nations
The venue sits in The Nations in West Nashville, just west of the Tennessee State University campus. If you have not spent time over here, you are about to.
Charlotte Avenue is the spine of the neighborhood and it is stacked with breweries, taco spots, coffee shops, and neighborhood restaurants.
The water tower on 51st Avenue is the unofficial landmark and one of the better photo stops in the city.
Sylvan Park and Richland are a short hop away for tree lined streets, the Richland Park farmers market, and a genuinely great greenway walk.
Downtown and Broadway are about ten to fifteen minutes east, so you are close to the music without sleeping on top of it.
Centennial Park and The Parthenon sit right between you and downtown. Yes, Nashville has a full scale Parthenon. Yes, you should go see it.
Coming from across the pond, or across the Pacific
We host guests from all over the world, and we have built our operation so language never becomes the reason a trip goes sideways.
Our guest messaging translates in real time. Write to us in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, or anything else. We will answer you in the language you wrote in.
Your arrival guide comes in your language. Door codes, parking, thermostat, trash day, wifi, and the closest place to get a proper coffee before sunrise when your body clock is still nine hours away.
We will help you book. Tee times, restaurant reservations, rideshare instructions, and the Broadway spots that are actually worth your evening.
We answer around the clock. Time zones are our problem, not yours.
Nashville International Airport is also in the middle of a major expansion, with a new concourse buildout, a second terminal on the way, and airport leadership actively pursuing direct flights to Asia. The city is getting easier to reach every year. We would like you to be here for it.
A few practical tips before you go
Bring your own clubs if you travel with them. If not, you are fine. Rentals and a pro shop are on site.
Wear real shoes. You are walking a course, not sitting in a bay. Soft spikes or comfortable sneakers.
Book ahead for weekends. First of its kind venue in a city that already gets about 17 million visitors a year. Do the math on a Saturday in October.
Give yourself three hours. Two and a half to play, plus time to eat, hit the range bays, or lose $5 to your brother in law at Whack a Mole.
Bring the person who does not golf. Seriously. The format is built for them.
Six more ways to play golf in Nashville without a course
CityGolf is the headline, but it opens in late 2026 and public rounds book out 22 days ahead. Our earlier guide, Nashville Golf Without the Course, is folded in here so the rest of the city’s no-tee-time options live on one page: simulator bars, mini golf and a rain-proof Plan B for a bachelor weekend.
Why "No Course" Golf Is Suddenly the Move in Nashville
Three frustrations drive almost every "let's just hit Topgolf instead" group text:
Real courses around Nashville are crowded, weather-dependent, and expensive once you add cart, rental, range balls, and food.
You want to play with friends who do not actually own clubs or have ever broken 100.
You want golf as part of a night out, not a four-hour commitment that ends at 1 p.m.
The non-course venues below run year-round, indoors, with a bar, and most of them let you book a bay or a bag in under 60 seconds from your phone.
1. Topgolf Nashville
Best for: mixed-skill groups and first-timers.
Topgolf operates a flagship Nashville location with climate-controlled hitting bays, a full menu, and target-based games that actually work for non-golfers.
It is the easiest "first stop" if half your group has never picked up a club. Reservations on Friday and Saturday nights routinely book out by midweek, so plan ahead rather than walking up.
2. Topgolf Swing Suites Downtown Nashville
Best for: small groups who want to talk without yelling.
If you want the simulator-bar version of Topgolf instead of the full driving-range experience, Topgolf Swing Suites operates a Downtown Nashville location built around private bays.
It is the right pick when you want to hear each other talk, drink without yelling, and rotate hitters in a small group of four to eight.
3. Puttshack Nashville
Best for: bachelorette parties, birthdays, and groups that want a show.
Puttshack runs a tech-infused, four-course mini-golf concept in Nashville with auto-scoring balls and a full bar program. Tripadvisor and the official Puttshack site list it as currently operating, with menu and event packages live.
Treat it as the bachelorette- and birthday-party default rather than a Saturday afternoon "quick nine."
4. Five Iron Golf Midtown Nashville
Best for: actual golfers who want a true indoor experience.
Five Iron Golf opened a Midtown Nashville simulator-bar location and lists its Nashville venue on the official Five Iron site, on Yelp (with photo updates as recent as April 2026), and across local Instagram coverage.
It is the closest thing in the city to a "real" indoor golf experience: simulators, lessons, leagues, and a bar built for after work, not after-prom.
5. X-Golf Nashville
Best for: serious players who want swing data and league play.
X-Golf operates a Nashville location built around its proprietary indoor simulator system, geared toward serious players who want swing data, league play, and lessons.
If your friend group leans actual-golfer rather than novelty-golfer, this is the venue that will keep them happy for three hours straight.
6. Hotel and Restaurant Swing Suites
Best for: bachelor weekends and rain-proof Plan Bs.
The Topgolf Swing Suites format is now showing up inside hotels and entertainment venues, which means you can play simulated Pebble Beach without leaving your room block on a bachelor weekend.
If you are coordinating a group stay, ask the property directly whether they have a Swing Suite on-site or a partnership with one nearby. It is a fast way to lock in a rain-proof Plan B.
Your Next Steps Before You Book
Match the venue to the group: Topgolf for mixed skill, Swing Suites for talkers, Puttshack for parties, Five Iron and X-Golf for actual golfers.
Book bays Thursday for the weekend. Topgolf and Puttshack regularly fill Friday and Saturday primetime in Nashville.
Confirm "open today" on the operator's Instagram before driving to any 2026-launched simulator concept.
Ask your hotel whether a Swing Suite is on-site or partnered nearby before you book a group stay around bad-weather weekends.
Making a whole trip of it? Find your Nashville home and book direct.
Stay ten minutes from the first tee
We manage homes all over Nashville, including West Nashville, Sylvan Park, and the streets around The Nations. Fully stocked kitchens, real beds, fast wifi, and a local team that actually answers the phone. Book direct with us and we will help you plan the round, the reservations, and everything in between.
Host Extraordinaires has been welcoming guests to Music City since 2016. Roughly 190 homes, about 20,000 stays a year, a full local field team, and our own laundry facility, which is a boring detail that turns out to matter a lot when you get into bed.
