Privacy Policy

Host Extraordinaires — hostextraordinaires.com. Effective August 18, 2026.

This policy explains what information Host Extraordinaires ("we", "us") collects when you use hostextraordinaires.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website and direct bookings made through it.

1. Information you give us

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites we record basic technical and usage data: pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, browser and device type, and the general path you took through the site. We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic measurement and, where enabled, Google Ads conversion measurement. Analytics load only after you accept cookies, and IP addresses are anonymized. We do not store your raw IP address with form submissions — only a one-way hash used to detect abuse.

3. Cookies

Essential cookies keep the site working (for example, remembering your cookie choice and an in-progress booking). Analytics and advertising cookies are optional and are set only with your consent. You can decline non-essential cookies at the banner, change your mind later, or clear cookies in your browser at any time.

4. How we use information

To answer your inquiry, take and service your booking, arrange access and support during your stay, send you information you asked for, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal and tax obligations, and understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us operate, and only as needed: Stripe (payments), Supabase (our database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), Google (analytics and advertising measurement), Anthropic (the chat assistant), and our booking-channel partners where your reservation originated with them. We also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, guests, or team.

6. How long we keep it

Booking and financial records are retained as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Inquiries and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to remove them or they are no longer useful. Chat conversations are purged on a rolling retention schedule.

7. Security

Data is stored in our private database with row-level access controls, transmitted over encrypted connections, and reachable only by authorized team members. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in the message, decline non-essential cookies, and ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK) you may have additional rights, including the right to know what we collect and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. To make a request, email team@hostextraordinaires.com; we may need to verify your identity before acting.

9. Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
